Opening Remarks – Meeting
called to order by Don Gordon. Minutes
from June meeting approved.
Coaches Report – Speed
training with Nick Kyros is going great.
The players and coaches are learning a lot. There are approx. 55-60 players attending the lifting. Reminder:
Eligibility-must pass 5 classes and carry a 1.75 GPA. Physicals & Drug testing are August 1 @
5:30 p.m. The cost is $30 for
both. Drug testing only is $20. Make-up date is August 3. The drug testing/physicals must be completed
before double sessions. Note the
physical forms are 4 pages and can be found in the A.D. office, online, or
Coach. Each player will need his
student I.D. or Drivers License for the
drug testing. Player/Parent meeting
will be held July 30 @ 6 p.m., Jr. High
Player/Parent meeting will be held August 1 @ Lakeview Jr. High. High school camp starts next week. We have a sponsor for the camp
t-shirts. Coach stated that he was
proud of our players for the excellent attendance in the July 4 parade. He
especially thanked the coaches who attended with the players. Our football staff is now complete with the
hiring of Andrew Custer- 8th grade, Javar Thompson- Fresh. Assist.,
& Darro Hill- Jr. High Assist.
Secretary Report – Minutes from
June meeting were approved. Motion by
Tim Bahen, seconded by Lynn Foltz, motion carried. Christy requested a meeting with senior parents after the club
meeting to discuss the senior poster.
Treasurer Report – Dave Lawler –
Copy of treasurer report distributed to those in attendance. Copy of Bingo balance distributed. Budget
for 06-07 distributed. Motion to
approve budget by Jan Shore, seconded by Steve Johann, motion approved.
Old/Current Business:
Bingo- Don announced that we have
regular crowd attending and it is going well.
Golf Outing- Scheduled for
August 5, 2006. Wayne Campbell is the
Committee Chair (not in attendance).
Christy announced that we need help soliciting sponsors, door prizes,
and raffle items. Please meet with her
after the club meeting to choose an area to solicit.
Equipment Bus- We now have
an equipment bus driver- George Snyder who is a retired truck driver. Thank you
Mr. Snyder.
T-shirts- Kathy Brown is underway with
the “Bleacher Creature” spirit t-shirts. Those in attendance were shown two options
of designs. The majority voted for the
design by Bill Stevens on a black t-shirt.
The charge will be $10 for short sleeve, $12 for long sleeve. Kathy will not be taking orders, they will
be available for purchase on July 30th @ Player/parent meeting, home
scrimmage and before kickoff at home games. Again, these will be sold on first
come, first serve basis (no orders).
New Business:
Pre-game Dinners- Instead of
post game dinners, we will be having pre-game dinners on Thursday evening
before two home games (1st & last home games).
Paw Prints- Senior
mothers will get together in August before the first game to paint the paw
prints.
Team Meals- The QB Club
will provide snacks & drinks to players for each away varsity game. The club will also provide funds for Jr.
High teams as in the past for their team meals.
Booster Membership- Don
announced that the PABC mailing with Booster Membership would be arriving soon.
Transportation Costs- The
Pickerington School Board approved to pay for ½ of the transportation costs
this year.
