Meeting Minutes

June 12, 2006

Opening Remarks – Meeting called to order by Don Gordon. Minutes from May meeting approved.

Coaches Report – Players maxed-out today. Coaches had their first meeting with Coach Kyros, Big Seasons. Coach will hold his annual parent meeting on July 30. This is a change in the original schedule because double-sessions got pushed up 4 days earlier. Physicals & Drug testing is scheduled for August 1^st. Reminder: the Physical form is four pages, if anyone needs a copy it can be found in the Athletic Office, online, & Coach Bahen. At the 10^th – 12^th grade player meeting, players received a packet with the physical form included. A player cannot practice until a drug test is taken. The makeup date for drug testing should be August 3^rd. The football calendar can be found online. Coach Philabaum’s son, Jack, was hurt in a lawn mowing accident. He is in Children’s Hospital. The QB club will send a candy bouquet to Jack. Coach needs to order camp t-shirts. If we can find a sponsor to pay for the t-shirts it would be helpful. Coach also needs to order Spirit Packs for the players. We have scrimmages scheduled for August 12 @ Dublin Kaufman and Aug. 18 at home 7p.m. Coach would like to order “spirit packs” and camp t-shirts, motion by Kathy Brown, seconded by Mike Boren, motion carried.

Secretary Report – Minutes from May meeting were approved. Motion by Lisa Decarlo, seconded by Luanne Shumate, motion carried. Christy touched on pre-season preparations and we have a much to do before our first game.

Treasurer Report – Dave Lawler – Copy of treasurer report distributed to those in attendance. Copy of Bingo balance distributed. Bingo is continuing to be a successful fundraiser. Dave requests that anyone who has expense invoices to please get those in ASAP as our year-end report is coming up.

Old/Current Business:

Bingo- Don announced that we are doing some new things to promote bingo such as a beach themed night. Please volunteer your time to work Bingo. “No-shows” have been a problem and has made it very difficult for those who are there to work. If you have volunteered please honor that commitment. Bill Stevens (Nick’s dad) is our regular Bingo “caller”. He is having major surgery on June 20 and we wish him a quick recovery.

Kroger Cards- We have several cards left and are now using them as “giveaways” in Bingo.

New Business:

Golf Outing- Scheduled for August 5, 2006. Wayne Campbell is the Committee Chair. We need volunteers to solicit sponsors and raffle/door prize donations. We need many hole sponsors in order for it to be a successful fundraiser. Wayne has a map of Pickerington broken down by solicit areas. Coach Bahen will ask Coaches if they will help at the outing. Wayne will have a meeting on June 25, 6:30 p.m. @ Wings-to-Go for anyone interested in helping with the Golf Outing.

July 4^th Parade- Players are strongly encouraged to walk in the annual Pickerington July 4^th parade. We would like to see a great representation of Pick. North Football this year.

Equipment Bus- We need an equipment bus driver for the upcoming season. Anyone interested to should contact Don Gordon.

T-shirts- Kathy Brown presented a new t-shirt idea. It is themed “Bleacher Creature”. Kathy will have a sample shirt made and will bring it to the next meeting. We hope to have them ready for the home scrimmage.

Post-game Dinners- discussion about these dinners. There is some concern about the shortage of food for the players and attendance of others outside the football program. Ideas are being generated for alternatives and will continue discussion at the next club meeting.
