Panther Quarterback
Meeting Minutes
October 10, 2005
Opening
Remarks
–Meeting called to order by Don Gordon.
Minutes from September meeting approved. Ben Assmann thanked the club
for sending flowers to him while he was hospitalized.
Treasurer
Report – Dave
Lawler - Copy of treasurer report distributed to those in attendance. Concern: we will have additional
expenses the next couple of months (Banquet, invoices for spirit packs &
coaches apparel) so we need to watch our budget. Our t-shirt sale made a profit of $2,000. A secondary account has been started for
Bingo. A weekly accounting is done for
Bingo and each week we have made an increase in profit.
Old
Business:
Bingo – The attendance rate is
increasing each week. Bingo fliers were
place on cars in the parking lot at the last home game. We need approx. 65 Bingo players each week
to really be profitable. Reynoldsburg
& Lancaster QB clubs have contacted Don to say that they are announcing the
date & time of the Panther Football Bingo at their bingo halls. Their
Bingos take place on a different night than ours, so we will also do the same
for them. We need a place to store
Bingo supplies. The H.S. Athletic
Office is willing to let us store the supplies there for now. The Junior class
is scheduled to work Bingo the month of November.
Volunteers –Bob Daniel: Thanks to
those who have volunteered to work games and Bingo. We need more members to show-up at club meetings. We do not have enough participation
considering the amount of football parents.
Those who do no work, get the same benefits as those who do (spirit
packs etc.) It is the same 20% of the
people doing all the work. We need a
positive way to improve the problem. Hope Boren suggested that we could keep
track of the number of times that each person has volunteers. We could decrease the Banquet charge per
family if they have volunteered the requested number of times. Lisa DeCarlo suggested that we could also
ask NHS students to help work games. The
NHS students would be happy to do this, as they need to fulfill their community
service.
New
Business:
Banquet –The Banquet will take place
November 20th, 5:00 @
Berwick. The cost is $20 per person (players are free of charge) and 5$ per
player to help pay for coaches gifts.
The committee checked into having the banquet at the H.S. however it
would have cost approx. $500 more to do so.
The banquet invitations will be mailed out this week and deadline for
rsvp is November 7. There will be no
tickets sold at the door. Each person
will need to check-in at the door at Berwick.
Tracie Campbell is collecting senior pictures for the slide show. We will also need to get a list together of
appreciation awards to present organizations that have contributed to our
football program.
Website –Meeting minutes are now
posted on the website.
Valentine Dance – Our annual valentine
dance will be held February 11, 2006 @ the American Legion.
Post Game Dinner – The last post game spaghetti
dinner went very well. We had a great
turnout of families and plenty of food.
Our next dinner will be on October 21st which is our last home game & senior
night. Those in attendance suggested we
have a chicken dinner. Fliers will go
in the coaches mail boxes this week to distribute to players.
Game Photos: Karen Russell will ask Andi Galvin about the photographer that is
at our home games and if this person will be at the banquet for parents to
order pictures.
Election of Officers: Election of 2005-2006
officers will be at the next club meeting November 14th.
Motion
to adjourn by Bob Daniel, seconded by Lisa DeCarlo, motion carried.
Dates
to remember: Next meeting November 14,
2005 @ 7p.m. H.S. Commons.
Respectfully
Submitted,
Christy
Campbell
