$20,000 from splitting of funds with original Booster Club. Jerry Moore
reports another $11,000 is coming.
ATHLETIC DIRECTOR REPORT (Mark Aprile)
- Tennis courts are now playable; gym is not usable for volleyball because
the court was mismarked for volleyball court
- Stadium gates are now locked
- Many teams have posted victories, which is impressive for a first year
school
- Great amount of volunteers Friday night with positive attitudes
- Scoreboard advertising signs are not yet up, but all spots have been
sold
- Aprile was asked about cross country course, and he feels the course
needs time to grow. Inquiry was made as to what we need to do to get course
ready (stones dug out, etc.) Aprile reports the path was laid out and
cut by the school, but additional work will need to be done by the Boosters
Group and/or individual clubs. Suggestion for officers to meet with Cross
Country group to see what needs to be done.
- Bob Daniel inquired about police at band /team gate, and allowing coach’s
wives and families on the field post game- which is OK- use good judgment
- Inquiry if we should continue to
have paid parking. Money is to be used to assist with transportation costs.
Parking will be available farther out for those who do not want to pay.
Some people do not like the paid parking idea, and report hearing negative
comments. Aprile will be discussing this issue with administrators and
sheriff’s department tomorrow. Also discussed the fact that Athletics
Boosters pays for marching band transportation, as well. By the end of
discussion most people settled with the idea that we probably need the
revenue, but we need to explain why we’re doing it, and do it right. Handicapped
parking spaces will be available at the stadium, as well.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE (Vince Krivda)
- As of today, $28,990 has been raised through membership. We are at 86%
of our goal of $33,895. We have 316 members, goal is 425.
- Booster Club rosters are available- clubs can use rosters for data bases,
as sport(s) is indicated on membership form
- Request made to make membership available at gate for home events besides
football- Krivda and Uher will pick at least one home soccer game, and
possibly others, to have a table set up.
- Boosters Club has pledged $52,000 to athletic department to support
teams and athletes; much of that will come from membership drive revenue
- Uher acknowledged Krivda has done a tremendous job with spread sheets,
updates, etc.
PROGRAMS COMMITTEE (Hope Boren and
Tammy Corriveau)
- Over $20,000 in advertising fees turned in to Jerry Moore, $1,200 still
outstanding
- Program sales from last week $860. One person sold at each gate, until
game time, then ticket booth sold programs.
- Each club may take programs to sell at home meets/games- form will be
filled out to balance/account for programs
- Suggestion to personalize program for each sport by adding a slip in
page about your team, roster, etc.
CONCESSIONS COMMITTEE (Gina Geist,
Bob Daniel and Mitch Wilson)
- $7,000 balance after paying bills and revenue from last week
- Daniel still addressing some venting/equipment needs
- Now working on equipping indoor concession stand for basketball; may
use some equipment from football concessions and move it indoors
- Also working on mobile concessions for baseball
- Wilson reports scheduling is going well, there have been two no-shows
so far, and they hope to get that worked out
- Big hand for Geist, Daniel & Wilson for all their hard work making
concessions successful
SPORTS CLUB EXCHANGE
QUARTERBACK CLUB (Bob McFadyen)
- Quarterback club reports that bringing in junior high players and families
has helped with fund raising, etc. as well as the quarterback club now
funding meals for the teams at away games; they are also covering laundry
costs for varsity football uniforms; all of which has been the players’
responsibility to cover cost in the past
- McFadyen reports good turnout at meetings, as well; communication has
been key; his goal is to not ask for money from families, but rather for
time to help with activities
- $16,000 raised in sale of coupon cards
- cheerleaders have also been included in quarterback club activities
GOAL CLUB – SOCCER (Dave Wolfe)
- selling Gold Cards for fundraiser
- working on communication to improve involvement; suggestion was made
to use phone tree as well as e-mail

by Mr. Packer, motion approved.

with Dennis and Patti and posted on website
FUNDRAISING (Dennis Schone)
- How do we raise money for the Boosters Club as well as satellite clubs,
without asking the same businesses to contribute over and over again,
and without putting the athletes door-to-door?
- It will take some time to come up with a plan, policy, etc.
- There will be a list of corporations that cannot be contacted for donations
of any kind, due to the large amount they already donate.
- Why are athletic boosters and music boosters separate organizations?
- Pig Roast suggested with DJ, etc. as end of year fundraiser, including
music boosters, etc.
- Dennis Schone reminded everyone that Donato’s has exclusive rights to
sell pizza at our concession stands.
**Mark Aprile reminded everyone that if athletes are being given rebates
as rewards for reaching certain fundraiser levels, cash/check must go
to parents, and must be approved by athletic department. No athletes can
receive over $100 worth of products, etc!!! |
