At 7:30pm Paul Smithberger convened the meeting in Room 413 at Pickerington High School North. Attendance was light due to President’s weekend and no email notice sent due to Paul’s computer not working. Minutes from January 9, 2005 meeting were reviewed and approved. Minutes are available on website: PickeringtonPanthers.com.

TREASURERS REPORT (Lana Brindle)

Raffle came out to a $5.22/ticket profit. Year to date reports were due Jan. 15. Cross Country is missing year to Date summary and bank statements. Year to date summary is missing for softball and concessions. Please, in the future, make sure the reports are turned in to Lana, not Gary.

ATHLETIC DIRECTORS REPORT (Paul and reps in Mark’s absence)

Boy’s and girl’s basketball doing well in districts. One wrestler advanced to state. Cheerleaders have won many competitions in their division (large varsity non-mount).

CONCESSION REPORT

Paul reports winter concessions have gotten better late in the season. Concessions trailer should be here by the middle of March for spring sports. Greg Boone indicated that baseball probably would not be using the trailer unless it is very close to the baseball diamonds. Greg requested that they be supplied with a grill, hotdogs, chips, pop, candy, etc. as they were last year. Trailer will probably be closer to softball diamonds since they do large tournaments. Dick Schultz inquired about how the trailer will be hardwired, and where. The trailer is set up to be able to move from one sight to another, but our facilities are not set up to make it easily accessible. Mark A. and Bob D. were to look into this and will decide what needs to be done electrically.  Paul suggested that concessions trailer be used at Violet Festival with a 50/50 split of concessions between clubs and Booster’s.

PROGRAMS (Hope Boren)

Spring sports programs will be printed this year. Track invitationals will get the majority of programs to sell, baseball, softball, boy’s volleyball and tennis can have whatever amount they want to sell at home games. Let Hope know.

MULCH SALE (Greg Boone)

Joint fundraiser with Tigers: selling bagged mulch. Anyone interested please order, and pass info on to friends and neighbors. Order forms available tonight or from Greg at later date.

SOFTBALL GOLF OUTING (Dick Schultz)

Planned for Sept. 25th. Already have foursomes signed up. Keep the date open and sign up!

MEMBERSHIP (Mark Uher)

Mark is willing to go to spring sport’s meetings to explain membership- let him know.

MONTE CARLO NIGHT

Plans do not show that it will make much profit, and at this time it looks like it might be tabled.

BINGO (Quarterback Club)

Bingo was stopped in 1998 because they disallowed smoking in the schools, and the equipment was old, and it took a lot of people volunteering. It ended up costing money, instead of making money. Dick Schultz emphasized that you have to have people there who know what they’re doing, and there needs to be worthwhile prizes to get people in the door. Don Gordon replied that it’s a consensus feeling among the football club that no one wants to sell the restaurant cards any more, and the Legion has offered their place on Monday nights, which is where Bloom Carroll holds their Bingo and made $72,000 last year. Don hopes to have it up and running in April, they are waiting on the Attorney General’s office for the license.

Meeting adjourned at  8:15pm. Next meeting Sunday March 20th,  7:30pm.
